The Core Music Program goes well beyond instrument training. Across five dedicated modules, students build a complete musical foundation that most self-taught musicians never develop.Students come away able to read and write music notation, build scales and triads from first principles, navigate key signatures, and apply transposition - giving them the theoretical literacy to understand any music they encounter. Their ear develops in parallel, with the ability to recognise and sing back intervals, identify time signatures by listening, and locate the tonal centre of a piece.Rhythm is treated as its own discipline. Students develop a solid internal pulse through structured study of time, tempo, note values, and time signatures - the kind of rhythmic grounding that separates trained musicians from self-taught ones. All students, regardless of primary instrument, develop keyboard fluency - working through scales, building finger independence, and harmonising with triads. The piano serves as a visual map of harmony that reinforces everything learned across the program.Rounding it out, students get a working introduction to the modern recording environment - signal flow, audio interfaces, microphone types, and basic DAW navigation - so they leave understanding not just how to play music, but how it's captured and produced.
Learning Outcomes
The Core Music Program is open to all ages and experience levels — no prior knowledge of music theory or formal training is required. Students must have chosen a primary instrument (voice, guitar, bass, piano, or drums) and come with a genuine commitment to structured learning. A brief introductory session may be conducted to help place students at the right starting point within the program.
Eligibility
This program is for anyone who feels the pull of music but wants to pursue it with intention. If you're a complete beginner ready to start the right way, or an intermediate player who's never had structured training, the Core Music Program meets you where you are. It's built for those who want to understand music - not just play it.
